References and Quotations

  • Geografia follows the ABNT reference system. When citing references in the text, provide the author's name in capitals, the year of publication and the page in parentheses, e. g. (SILVA, 1995, p.43). When the reference is in the sentence the author's surname(s) must be written in lower case, e. g. According to Silva (1995, p. 43). When the same author has more than one cited publication in the same year, the publications must be identified by lower case letters, e. g. (SILVA, 1995a, p.35).
  • We ask the authors to avoid footnotes.
  • Only references cited within the text are to be included in the reference list. They must be typed in left alignment and alphabetical order. • The responsibility for the content of assigned texts belongs exclusively to the authors.

3. Evaluation procedures

  • The evaluation in Geografia is done by a referee familiar with your subject. Neither the referee will know who the author is, nor will the author be informed about the referee. There are three possible outcomes in this process: acceptance - publish the paper as sent; review - publish after review; and not suitable for publication. A transcript of the referee's comments will be sent to all authors who submitted a paper. In the case of a paper requiring review, the revised text is sent to the same referee.
